Thumbs up Review: Butterflied Shrimp and Vegetable Stir-Fry

I didnt see a review for Butterflied Shrimp and Vegetable Stir-Fry - March 2004 (if i missed it I apoogize!!) but I made this tonight and just had to say MEOW! This was great! I used a little more of the chili paste/sauce because I love spicy and used 1.5 lbs of shrimp because, well, when is there such a thing as too much shrimp!?! LOL Anyway, its worth repeating. Really flavorful and a good looking dish to boot!

This is really an excellent dish. There's quite a long thread on it somewhere in the bowels of this forum

It also is pretty tasty with boneless chicken breasts if you don't want to spring for shrimp.

I just made this AGAIN last night using chicken.

IMO, the shrimp version is exquisite but the chicken dish is really good also and since my chicken breasts were 97 cents a pound on sale yesterday, it's quite a cost differential

It's really one of the better stir fry dishes I've tried in terms of the sauce. I used buckwheat soba as I like to use whole grains whenever possible. I also added some fresh stringbeans into the mixture which worked well.

I always up the proportion of vegetables -- the amount of veggies in the original recipe is a little skimpy for four portions and there is plenty of sauce.

This recipe sounds wonderful and will surely be on our "to try" list! Thanks for bringing this up again Amy! I would have missed it as I am pretty new to this message board.
