    Marinade for kabobs?

Used to make kabobs years ago on my Faberware Rotisserie, but don't seem to have the recipe I used for it.
Since I resurrected the grill for my Jennair cooktop, I want to try making kabobs again. Used the marinade for meat or chicken, then threaded everything on the skewers. I found I had several nice stainless steel ones squirrelled away.
I am in heaven now that I am actually using the grill on the cooktop!
No smoke! Easy to clean (you spray the burner basin with pam and nothing sticks) I have had the attachment for 16 years!!!! but never used it since dh used to bbq. The bbq is gone to bbq heaven and he doesn't want another!

my favorite marinade is really easy (great with chicken, lamb or beef). I use a mortar and pestel and mash 7-8 cloves of garlic with kosher salt adding olive oil and then add pepper rosemary and lemon juice. then I put in with my meat in a plastic bag and let marinade for at least an hour. I always serve it with a yogurt, cucumber sauce with lemon juice in it and it's so refreshing!

This is a very nice marinade. You don't have to marinate for 3 days...a few hours should be fine. One thing, though...the one time i did it with pork, the pork got all mushy. I don't know if that was just a freak occurrence, but I haven't done it since. It is very good on beef and chicken.

We did this one this weekend. It was posted by gaja on another thread. It is very easy to put together, and it tasted great!

    Pork Souvlaki
The Carefree Cook – Rick Rodgers
    Makes 4 to 6 servings

2 pounds center-but boneless pork loin
    ½ cup chopped onion
    1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
    ¼ cup extra-virgin oil
    2 garlic cloves, chopped
    1 tablespoon dried oregano
    ½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Metal skewers (or wooden skewers that have been soaked in water for 30 minutes, then drained)

Trim the fat from the pork and cut it into 1½-inch cubes.
Puree the onion with the lemon juice, oil, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper in a food processor or blender. Pour into a zip-tight plastic bag and add the pork cubes. Refrigerate to marinate while you prepare the fire, or for up to 24 hours.
Build a charcoal fire in an outdoor grill and let burn until the coals are covered with white ash. (Or preheat a gas grill on High.)
Thread the meat onto the skewers, leaving a little space between the cubes. Lightly oil the grill. Grill the skewers, turning occasionally, until the meat is well browned and looks barely pink in the center when prodded with a sharp knife, 10 to 12 minutes.
Remove the pork from the skewers and serve hot.

We have used one several times before that I think I got from this board using soy sauce, lemon lime soda and some other ingredients. Is very tasty! I tried a search but didn't find it. If I don't forget I'll post the recipe after I get home from work. Very easy too!
