    Cool Wine Guy is OK!

OK, Kristin (and Brian), forgive the slight embarassment of my giving Wine Guy his own thread, but I figure that any guy who knows he's been discussed on an internet BB, compared to at least 3 other guys -- or at least what we've heard of their behavior and prospects, quite possibly thinks it's a little odd to meet a bunch of people you've chatted with on the internet, and probably knows that there are a bunch of moms in the group who might be a little critical in a well-meaning protective way and nonetheless comes out to meet us all deserves his own thread -- or at least a break from the dating hell thread.

We got to meet Wine Guy (Brian), Toby, Bosco and ??? (realized I never heard the name of Brian's other dog -- not even on the BB) as well as Kristin yesterday. While Brian got points from me for even showing, he seemed like a genuinely nice guy who was at home with the kids as well as the adults (extra points for a guy who takes to kids from any mom). The kids especially enjoyed the dogs, and I loved watching Emma, Holly, Robin, Zoe and Mia running with, playing with and hugging them all. I'm only surprised that my oldest didn't see the deck of cards come out and join the poker game. Next time, Brian.

Enjoyed meeting you Brian! Kristin too. And Bosco, Toby and their pal - whatsisname.

The name is Sam and I for one would like to ditto what you said. Any guy that will enter into a relatively new relationship doing what he did with such humor and grace has got my vote

Agreed. I liked him a lot. However, it's Kristin's call . No pressure from us here in the peanut gallery.

Beth, your DH is quite a catch too. And your boys are fun, so it's no surprise that wine guy would like playing with them .

    Beth, you are hilarious!

Yep, Sam was the other dog. All the pups are pretty tired today - perhaps from all the cookies they stole!

And I like the wine guy too. We both enjoyed the weekend getaway to the Texas countryside.

Anna, thanks. We loved meeting everyone. I love Emma's love of life and lack of fear. You have given her a lot of security. Maybe it helps to know her spirit has the peace you would like to borrow back sometimes. It will come.

Kristin, I walked Michael over to the marsh this morning -- he hadn't gotten enough fishing in. We were talking about how Brian was playing poker on the walk back -- my boys will be looking for a game (poker or anything) next time they see Brian.

Before I completely digress, I'll aim my other comments to the general thread. I'm glad the pups are only tired (maybe it was all those adoring little girls to run and play with -- Michael would have been there if he hadn't been in the pool most of the time ). Toby is quite the opportunist (and I think I caught Bosco taking notes a time or two). It's not like we had any lack of food, so I'm just glad they are feeling okay and no upset puppy tummies.

Best of luck with the new job!

I even had to ask Brian (wine guy) a few questions, and grill him on wines and how long they could be kept. I found out that I could clean out my fridge.

    Thanks Brian.

Yeah, we liked wine guy, too. Rob especially liked playing with Bosco, Toby and Sam. But I thought Brian was thoughtful, intelligent and fun.

You must keep him. We have all spoken.

Aw, I couldn't go back and post about meeting him under "dating hell" now, could I?

Sorry to hijack, but having known them for several years now, I have to say I agree

He'll be glad to know he's gotten the stamp of approval too. Our anniversay is coming up -- #13. Lucky or not?

Kristin, if you ever want him to have another nickname, it may be hard to change it from Wine Guy, but isn't that so much better than Man #x?

He's a keeper, especially since he knows how to dance! (Thanks for letting me borrow him...since my DH was flying). Beth - we will be celebrating #13 this year too. What day? Our anniversary is August 30, but we tend to celebrate whenever Scott is in town.

Don't even ask how I stumbled upon this thread (or missed it the first time)... suffice it to say it's Monday, clients are not showing up, I'm in the same "I don't want to do any work" mood that I was in on Friday, and I have a weird fascination with Kristin's love life (and JLo's and Britney's).

I didn't know that wine guy had been bumped up. Yippee!

We need a dating thread so I can lurk and live vicariously through other people's lives...

    I Need A Life

What does it say about me that I knew exactly what this thread was going to be about the second I read the title?

Jealous here that I didn't get to 'vet' Wine Guy (well, it could be worse...it could be 'Whine Guy!) too. Glad to hear he's a winner.

Now can we have an epilogue on the also rans? Whatever happened to Loser Guy...the one who was so unreliable? Tell me you sent him off in a blaze of glory Kristin!
