    Cookbook Help

Which of these do I keep, and which do I try and sell or trade:

    The Best American Recipes 2003-2004
    The Quick Recipe
    The Dinner Doctor
    The Carefree Cook
    Simply Ming
    Craft of Cooking
The Bread Bible (this I'll probably keep, but what recipes are best)

    Thanks for the help.

I only have Simply Ming. I thought I would really get into it because I like the idea of all of that type of food. After I got it, I think I like the idea more than the actual food I think it would be a great book for someone who liked that, but I only found one or two recipes that interested me and I have yet to make any of them.

I have Best American Recipes, Quick Recipe, Dinner Doctor, and the Carefree Cook. I haven't even had a chance to look at Carefree Cook yet, so can't comment. I wouldn't give up Best American Recipes or Quick Recipe, and have mixed feelings about the Dinner Doctor. I have to admit, though, that I haven't cooked much out of DD. The few things I have tried I liked, though.

Which 'Bread Bible' do you have??? There seem to be a number of them.

Everything I've tried from Rose Levy Beranbaum's book have turned out really well, but that may not be the one you have. (I even made my own sourdough!)

Little Bit - That is the one I have. Are the recipes good for a bread maker?

Cookin4Love - What are some good recipes out of the books you have.

I have the other Bread Bible. I would say keep either of those unless you know you don't want to bake breads.

I also have Simply Ming, but I just got it this summer and haven't used it yet. I just pulled it out and am going to mark a couple of things to try. Just flipping through it, a couple of things caught my eye again. I'd probably keep that one too. I'll let you know if I make something and change my mind.

'Bread maker' ?? You mean a bread machine?
Not sure about that. She gives detailed instructions for using a stand mixer and working by hand. I remember her saying that some of the especially soft doughs work well in the bread machine, but I don't remember which ones. I think she does tend to finish baking the dough in a regular oven after shaping them, though.Sorry to be so vague, but since I don't have a bread machine, I'd pretty much skip that part, even if it were there.
