Pastry Scoop Supper Club in NYC

So, French Culinary Institute has a pastry web site called Pastry Scoop and they sponsor monthly supper clubs. The next one is Monday August 2nd and DH and I are going to go. I was thinking it would be fun to post the info here in case anyone in the NYC area was interested (JeAnne!!!??)

Here is the text of the email:

Join us for a farewell party to summer, with a menu specially designed by our chef to highlight warm-weather flavors including fresh tomato basil soup, freshly caught sauteed tilapia, and crumbly blueberry corn cake. Wine pairings feature the old-world style wines of Napa's Sentall Cellars. Door prizes will be provided by our sponsors OXO International and E. Guittard Chocolate.
PastryScoop.com will take a break from Supper Club during the month of September, but we still have a few seats open for the Monday, August 2nd event. Call (646) 254-8542 or email info@pastryscoop.com to reserve a seat today!

That looks so fun! I would totally horn in on your action if I weren't going to be in the city the day before that (at the Latino Film Festival). There are rules for us suburbanites!

The next PastryScoop Supper Club is Monday October 5th. Here are the details: http://www.pastryscoop.com/conferenc...upperClub.html . DH cannot go, so I am going to be brave and go by myself. Hopefully some BBers can come and keep me company. And I want to win a door prize this time like JeAnne did, that lucky ducky!

    Door prize? What door prize?

I was thinking we'd never had a report on the last one, and now you're telling me she won something something pastry related?

I did report back but it was on another thread...I won this 5 lb block of guittard chocolate. I'm not sure we'll be able to make this one, but I'll ask Chaz
