    The Bush-Cheney '04 Sloganator

Warning: This is anti-Bush but just for kicks, no political debates please

In March, the web site for the Bush-Cheney campaign -- the real one, paid
for by MBNA America and Richard Scaife -- featured a "create your own
banner" tool, where you could enter your own slogan and print out your own
poster, with the Bush-Cheney logo and a note at the bottom saying "paid for
by Bush-Cheney '04, Inc." Democrats, of course, couldn't get enough of this.
The original sloganator accepted everything, then it started censoring
profanity and words like "Hitler," "dictator," and "evil." Nevertheless,
many clever folks exploited the sloganator to their own ends before its sad
demise only a couple of weeks after its birth, and its mourners assembled
some of the best for the slide show.

You MUST be a Democrat....After all it's just for kicks.

Very unfair to post this disclaimer. Maybe I should do that to my political threads. However, I do not think it would make any difference.

Very funny! I'd love to see what the Republicans could come up with for Kerry.
"Is ice hockey hard? I don't know, you tell me. We need to have the strength and power of a football player, the stamina of a marathon runner and the concentration of a brain surgeon. But, we need to put all this together while moving at high speeds on a cold and slippery surface while 5 other guys use clubs to try and kill us. Oh, yeah, did I mention that this whole time we're standing on blades 1/8 of an inch thick. Is ice hockey hard? I don't know, you tell me. Next question."

jmarie you've posted your fair share of Republican propoganda without anyone freaking out. All's fair in love and war as they say.

Well my brother sent me this and I thought this was funny. He is talking about some new Kerry ads.:

One of the radio ads addresses Kerry's failure to vote on a bill to extend unemployment benefits for 13 weeks: "It needed 60 votes to pass. Ninety-nine out of 100 senators voted -- Kerry did not! It lost by one vote! Maybe Kerry thought the more of us who are unemployed and hurting, the more likely we would vote Democrat."

Another ad attacks Teresa Heinz Kerry, who, at the Democratic convention last month cited her birth and upbringing in Mozambique and who has described herself as African American. In the radio commercial, the announcer says: "His wife says she's an African American. While technically true, I don't believe a white woman, raised in Africa, surrounded by servants, qualifies."

Look, the Sarah428 knew this was propaganda. Propaganda is propaganda no matter WHO starts it. When I post something it is propoganda, when someone else does, it is amusement. And I am the pot calling the kettle black.

Actually, Theresa H-K refers to herself just as often as a Continental African. And I didn't realise that you had to be underpriviliged and black to be an African American. African means from Africa, which she is, and American means having American citizenship, which she does.

BTW - neither of those are particularly clever or witty. The following are funny:

"There was an embarrassing moment at a recent Democratic fundraiser. When John Kerry was handed a $10 million dollar check, he said, 'I do.'" Craig Kilborn

"John Kerry suspended his campaign for five days this week in honor of President Reagan. And right now, he's ahead in the polls. How's that make him feel? Disappears for a week and he's up in the polls. What else can he do now but go into hiding." Jay Leno

"'Shrek 2' made over $120 million during its first week. In a related story, John Kerry asked Shrek to marry him." Conan O'Brien

"John Kerry met with Ralph Nader last week. Both sides of every issue were discussed. And then, Nader spoke." Jay Leno
Yes and I AM CAPABLE OF SEEING HUMOR. I laughed hysterically at the Bush/Kerry animated piece that someone posted here, awhile back.

But don't continually call what I write or post propaganda, when this surely is just that.

And BETHANY, there is a difference between humor and what was posted here. To anyone supporting Bush, how could they think it funny?

And what I wrote is NOT funny, but that went right over your head. What I wrote was as funny as the link in this thread. My sarcasm was missed.

    BETHANY!
IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHICH SIDE OF THE FENCE YOU ARE STANDING ON...

Well, actually, in retrospect, after editing this, I do think it hysterical that Teresa Heinz-Kerry thinks of herself as an African American. Just like John Kerry hoped, at one time, to be the 'next ' black President. I thought that hysterical, too.

Ahhhhh. It is definately an election year.

And Joyce my dear, do you even know for whom I intend to vote? Which side of the fence I am on? Oh, and as long as I'm at it, for whom did I vote 4 years ago?

I have to disagree with you, Joyce. As one who will vote for Bush come November, I found the sloganator quite amusing from the perspective that there was some idiot in the Bush campaign that thought this was a good idea!

My point exactly! That's why I posted it and put the disclaimer in hopes this thread wouldn't be taken over w/ political views, etc. Oh well, it was worth a shot.

There are 'idiots' everywhere. I find it odd that none of the PRO-BUSH ad's appeared in this little link. Like Sarah423 said, this is the Democrat's doing. The Democrat's re-opened this and I am supposed to think it funny for WHATEVER REASON.

Sorry, just not buying this propaganda.

AND: I do not care what side of the fence you are standing on, Bethany. I don't even care about who you voted for. But what I am saying is that most people voting for Bush would not think the link funny.

That's exactly why I found it funny. It would be far less amusing if some Bush opponents had just done some cut-and-paste job to stick ironic slogans above the Bush-Cheney logo. Most anyone can do that- what I found funny is that these were generated using a webtool on the official Bush-Cheney campaign site... and the wistful "Time of Your Life" accompaniment to the slide show.

OK. I left and went and had my yearly physical, needed to drive a bus, and thought about this conversation. Yes, i actually thought about this conversation. I guess I couldn't see the point for seeing red and the mean things that were being said about Bush/Chaney.

Although I do not think what was on the page, or whtever you want to call it, was funny at all, I can see where you would think it funny because it backfired on the Republicans.

So, having said that, mea culpas to you all.

    Have fun with it!

At least when I have something to say to someone, I don't go get an alter ego, BOB. I send the message and then wait for them to post it on the board for all to see...because that is how I know some people operate on this board.

And if I am wrong, or I feel I am wrong, I will admit it.

As as for VOO-DOO dolls, give me a break...If I did VOO-DOO Dolls...you really wouldn't be worth the time.

And since I know that you really can't win with EVIL people....I end any discussion, right here. There is a difference in debating with someone with differring opinions and someone who is outright evil.

By the way, I responded to your PM, but your mailbox was full....So, here it is.

Have a HAPPY DAY, BOB. Are you HAPPY, BOB?

So instead you send them harassing PM's?

J Marie has apparently slipped over into Right Wing Christian paranoia. I have not ever had or used any other name other than my own. In fact, I'm one of the few who uses their real name here.

BOB, I said nothing about you having an alter ego. I was streesing that I say what I say and then take the punches.

I have heard so many times, on this board, to please take it to the PM's if you have a gripe about a personal attack. I did that and now I am criticized for doing it? This is what really makes me angry....If I do then I am Dam%$# and If I don't I am DAM%$#

So GREYAANGEL...what would YOU have me to do?????????????

Would someone please give me the guidelines for PM's so that I can follow them and not break the rules? I need to do exactly what everyone else is doing. I have received the same kinds of PM's from 4 or 5 other people on this board....

Are the rules different for different people GREYSANGEL?

And BOB, right wing anything had nothing to do with my response. I was explaining myyself , not you. Sorry that you are so paranoid...but I know that goes with the territory too.

Thanks for the link. Thought you might like to know my plans for it.

My boss hosts Kerry gatherings at her home and is actively campaigning for him. She's out of town right now. When she gets back I plan to have her office decorated with these. She'll flip when she first sees them but she'll love them.
