In my previous house, I used my sewing machine in a carpeted room. Now that I am sewing in a room with a vinyl floor, the presser foot is slipping all over the place. I've considered small rugs, both woven (probably cut pile rather than looped -- certainly not scultured), and those with woven polyester on top and foam on the bottom (actually a lot like a mouse pad).

If you use a sewing machine on a floor slicker than carpet, do you use something under the presser foot? If so, what?
