    Mike's Hard Lemonade, anyone?

I just discovered Mike's Hard Lemonade. I like it, but I can't help wondering what it's made of. I can't find any nutritional info. or even a list of ingredients on the label or box; the website doesn't seem to offer it, either. Does anyone know what this stuff is? How potent? What's it made from? TIA. Martha

Weird...I just did a quick search and found that some other people were curious about the ingredients and emailed the company - this was the response:

Sorry, mike's product contents are proprietary and we do not divulge the
source or type of our ingredients. If your request is because of an
allergy, please let me know what you are allergic to and I can let you
    know if we use it.

Editing to add that it is a malt based (beer) beverage. I know that because it is sold in the grocery stores here.

I don't drink a lot but they are good.

    I love this stuff!

haven't had it much recently, though. I used to have it when I had more of a social life than I do now!

I have no idea what it is made of, though.

I don't know either, but I LOVE the Mike's Hard Limeade. YUM! I don't think it's all that potent, but it sure is sweet.

Has anyone tried the Mike's Light Hard Lemonade? I saw it a few weeks ago and was wondering how it tasted.

My husband loves the Light Hard Lemonade! It's supposed to be low-carb and my husband certainly doesn't care about that (nor do I) - he just likes the flavor better than the original. Personally, I like the Cranberry Lemonade. I am going to stop reading this thread, though, because I have no inclination to know the nutrional info. Some things are better left unknown.

yuck. I have tried the light and it isn't near as good as the regular. I can tolerate it, but it really isn't very good. if I am going to have empty calories, might as well use them on the good stuff.

Thanks for all of your responses. I didn't think they seemed very strong... maybe like a light beer? I don't have any beer around or I would compare the alcohol content. It's a good thing I didn't discover these over the summer.

The Mike's beverages are a mainstay in my house in the summer. My favorite is cranberry. I can't say I ever think about the nutritional content of alcoholic drinks...

    Yup, here I go again.....

Equal quantities of fresh lemon juice and simple syrup, just a quarter of a cup each for a glassful, really, and if you're using Splenda, you don't even have to make the syrup as it dissolves almost instantly. Pile in the ice, vodka optional, although Absolut citron is perfect; fill the glass to the top with either water or seltzer, depending on preference. A lot cheaper than Mikes, no questionable ingredients, alcohol controlled to your preference, why bother carrying all those bottles around?

Seriously, I started doing this during the summer, using only Splenda. It's pretty much replaced my soda habit with somethng better and cheaper, so much so that the usual lemon-lime soda I might drink instead tastes seriously nasty to me now.

I like the way your concoction sounds, Bob. I've never tried Mike's but I think I'll try yours first.

if you get mike's hard lemonade in canada, it has hard liquor in it. it tastes much better (and is also quite a bit stronger). i guess there are regulations in the us that require it to be made with malt liquor in the us. mike's hard cranberry-lemonade is dangerously good (esp. the canadian variety).

DH and I LOVE Mike's Hard Lemonade. Due to calorie watching, we tried the light. Not crazy about it. What we do now is make a split. We'll open one of each, then pour half of each into our glasses and mix. We have gotten very used to the split and actually enjoy it!

    Cool Ingredients

I also would like to know the ingredients. I recently bought it because they didn't have our normal brand in stock. It makes me stuffy. I'm curious to know if they use corn syrup, because that does bother me.

For a first post you resurrected an 8-year-old thread instead of googling for easily found information on the internet?
