Well, I got to meet her today! It was really funny, because my friend and I entered the store around 1:15 p.m. and she was scheduled to start at 2 p.m. We wanted to get there early so we wouldn't be at the back of the line. Well as I was making a BEELINE for the 3rd floor area where things were set up for her appearance, who comes up alongside me! My eyes were focused forward, but this person was sort of "passing me" on the right - so I look to my right, and THERE SHE WAS! So I said out loud but to myself "Oh My God!", and of course, she hears me and looks over....So I said embarrassedly, "Sorry!", and then I proceeded to follow her up the escalator to the 3rd floor! We were directly behind her. She was wearing black stockings with the seam up the back.... ooh la la!!!
Once on the third floor, she headed to a back room to sign a bunch of books for some other purpose, and my friend and I went to the roped off area with all the chairs set up and found ourselves some seats. She came out at 2 p.m. and talked for about 15 or 20 minutes, and then everyone lined up for their pictures/autographs. She was beautiful, gracious and wonderful to listen to and look at!I'm glad I went. I brought my Nigella Bites book with me for her to sign since I don't want the American version of Feast - I'm ordering it from Canada to get the metric version. Here's my picture with her (I did tell her that my DH would likely be carrying this photo in his wallet! His two favorite women in one picture... to which she replied, "Yeah, one blonde, and one brunette!"
