We adopted a new dog. We have a big ole hairy hundred pound Golden (in my avatar) and now are the proud owners of a little 9 pound Daschund...he is so cute...and that is big for me to say that. I am a big dog kinda gal and weiner dogs have never been high on my list of favorite dogs.
He is just so darned cute. He has some "issues" because of his former life but he is loving and we are not worried about him being aggressive. (Cautious of course because we have kids...but we feel really good about him)
Here he is:
We have to keep bells on him so we can find him...he fits in the smallest of places...it is really hard to lose Ansel(Our Golden) but Sam just disappears into thin air (or under beds, counters, couches...etc)! LOL!!
I would like to ask for some advice:
Our new dog Sam grew up (2 years) in a breeding kennel...he peed and pooped wherever and whenever he wanted. They all just got hosed off at the end of the day. He has peed in our house in the same spot twice. I used the NoGo stuff but he still smelled it and went. I actually caught him doing it so I was able to do the firm "NO" and bring him outside to finish his business (that he happened to finish on my sweater that I was wearing )
I also praised him when I brought him outside to go and did! Am I on the right track or do you have any other ideas.
I want to say that we already love the little guy and are patient dog owners so I am willing to try anything.
