Chicken with leeks and mushroom

From May issue maybe? Just made it last night and found it very tasty. Anyone else wish the grocery store would sell leeks in smaller quantities? I would have to make this about 5 times to use up all the leeks I had to buy. Though I can use some to make the Roasted Mashed Potatos and Leeks from the November 99 issue.

Couldn't you just buy one leek? Were they sold by the bunch? I buy them by the pound, and if they have them bundled, I untie them and take only what I need (same as asparagus bundles). If they are sold by the bunch and this is too large, tell your grocery manager that you aren't happy with it, and ask them to change.
