tbear, do you have a subscription to CL? If so, just go to the food section and pull up the recipes and read the reviews there.
I did that on these two and the linguine dish had two reviews, one 4 stars and the other 1 star. The 4 star thought it was very good and the 1 star thought she wasted perfectly good clams on the dish.
The Flank steak recipe had 7 reviews, all giving 5 stars and wondeful reviews.

I do get a subscription. I tried searching for it in this search engine on the comm. board but came up with one vague review. I will try what you suggested- thanks! They are both on my menu this week.
We tried the linguine recipe last night and loved it, but I did change it a little bit. I purchased a five pound bag of fresh clams, which is nearly double the amount called for in the recipe. I then doubled the garlic and chopped it instead of slicing it, because I wanted a deep, garlicky flavor. I also added a little bit more of the cooking water from the clams and extra parsley. Not sure how the recipe would be as written, but with my changes, we thought it was terrific!
