I work for a very large company and recently applied for a position within a different division. I knew I didn't have all of the qualifications, but thought I was a pretty good match. I had two interviews with the hiring manager (over the phone) and in her last interview she tells me that while I am her top candidate, her boss is pushing for someone 1) who will work in the SF office, and (2) has more specific background in this one area of law. She tells me that she has about 65 resumes to go through and that they are keeping the position open for now, but she would call me every three to four days to let me know the status. That was almost a month ago and I haven't heard a peep from her. I actually sent a follow-up email about a week and half ago to let to her know that I was still very interested in the position and that I hoped the interview process was going well for her. I would like the job, but won't be broken hearted if I don't get it. I just don't understand why I haven't heard from her. The job is still being posted as open, so I don't know what to think. Should I follow up again, or just let it lie and assume I did not get the job?
