Actually, I'm very often wrinkly, as I'm not fond of ironing -- BUT... the other day, wanted to wear a spring dress, got out the iron, and found that some time in its recent fortnight of solitude, it had decided the world was too much with it. In short, worked when I put it away, works no more.
That's okay, I never really liked that one (it was a fairly pricey, but somehow clumsy, Black and Decker).
I trotted off to a couple of places to look at irons last night. There are cheap ones, twenty dollars or so -- I suppose I could just get one of those and never mind. Then the price jumps to fifty-sixty-seventy dollars -- I can't see much of a difference between those and the cheapies, honestly.
Then there was a third price jump, to a Panasonic Cordless Iron at a hundred dollars. You sit it on a base every time you put it down, and it recharges. Very tempting, I hate the stupid cord -- but does it work? Is it worth the cash do you think? Or do all irons give up the ghost in two or three years anyhow (my experience thus far) and would it be best to go with "cheap and disposable without qualm"?
