expiration date: regarding Miracle Whip

so i just pulled a jar of unopen Miracle Whip and the expiration is July 2005.

Is this safe to open and eat? We usually go through a jar in 1 month.

Since it IS July 2005, I'd definitely use it...Food is not no longer good the day it expires, I think the date is just a guideline.

Speaking of expiration dates, I had two little jars of boullion cubes in my cupboard, one chicken and one beef. They expired in 1994!
