No, she has a new cookbook coming out next month, which focuses on quick weeknight dinners. Cut the Calories came out a few years ago; it was recently mentioned on the Sara Moulton thread so I thought I'd check it out (got a great deal on it!).

ETA: the new one is called Sara's Secrets for Weeknight Meals. It's already on my wish list.

I decided to order Mario Batali's new one from The Good Cook- Molto Italiano. This is a fantastic book! I will make many recipes out of it I'm certain, but it really is a great book to read! Mario's style is so endearing, and I learn so much. I am going through it a chapter at a time, because I enjoy reading the forward to each chapter, and then I have to read the little blurb about every recipe. He makes me want to cook every single recipe in his book- the way he describes them...Seriously, if you are a fan of "reading" a cookbook- this one is a must.
Merry: I don't think he knows about second breakfast, Pip.
Pippin: What about elevenses? Luncheon? Afternoon tea? Dinner? Supper? He knows about them, doesn't he?

Cinnabun, in a few days when you've had a chance to enjoy it, or otherwise, could you post a few words about F&W Annual? i was thinking about it, as someone wants to buy me a gift. I didn't get many F&W's this year, I used to subscribe but needed a break. Thanks, Mari

This month has been a good month for cookbooks.

First off, I think I neglected to mention last month's aquiral of Maida Heatter's Book of Great Desserts. It's an older copy but still really good.

Yesterday, I picked up Nigella Lawson's How to Be a Domestic Goddess for $10 at a Border's Outlet.

Today, I am going to Barnes and Noble to get Nigella Lawson's Feast with a gift certificate a friend sent me for my birthday this week. (Saturday) Now, the only other book I'll need of her's is How to Eat.

I think that you will like F&W 2005, I don't know when I will make something from it though. There are a lot of recipes that look really good and best of all I don't have all of those magazines sitting around and the recipes are all in one place.

Went to the bookstore to buy something else and came home with:

    BH&G New cookbook "Pink edition"
    BH&G New Grilling cookbook.

I just got Vegetarian Suppers by Deborah Madison. So far I have made the stuffed peppers, a squash/pepper dish and a delicious, yet simple black bean and coconut rice recipe. I really like this cookbook since she focuses on simple, but fresh ingredients. I appreciate that her recipes are based on season so that I know I can buy a bunch of stuff from the farmer's market and find a recipe in that book that utilizes the ingredients.
I also got Boy Meets Grill by Bobby Flay for my DH since we finally have a grill. He has made one tasty marinade from that book so far.

I know (and HealthyinMN too - I can't figure out how to quote more than one poster) - we went right when they opened and I grabbed all of the cookbooks I could find, browsed and put back what I wanted... Terribly sneaky, but it works well!

I have Jane Brody's other cookbook - Good Food Book, but not this one, so I'm eager to plow my way through.

Well, due to the horrible influence here on the CLBB, DH got his first shipment from The Good Cook today. I think I will tell him they are late birthday gifts from him to me. But the magic package today contained:

    Barefoot Contessa, Family Style
    The Bread Bible
    New York Times Chicken Cookbook
    Food of India

And for referring him, I got:

    King Arthur Flour's Baking Companion

I'm most excited about the Bread Bible and the KA. I really want to get good at my bread baking.

And I love shopping my library's twice a year book sales too. The cookbooks are always super cheap- something like 50 cents a piece sometimes.
