Talking Get your priorities straight people!

I can't believe there isn't a huge long thread lamenting the separation of Jessica Simpson and that Nick whatever ..... I am so disappointed in you all.

Hi Kima -- When I heard that last night, all I could think of is how hard their PR team must have worked on the timing so that the announcement will come the day before a long weekend when all the media is out of town and the tabloids have been put to bed -- very Roveian

    Boo hoo. Enough said.

I just fell over laughing when I read that they had chosen to print a joint statement on Teen People's website. Talk about still seeking publicity

It could definitely be seen coming a mile away, but I feel bad for them. Sure they didn't help by putting their first year of marriage on TV, but having the paparazzi proclaim your marriage is over on the cover of every tabloid for the past year or so can't have made it easy on them.

I also feel bad for them. But maybe they are really at peace with this decision. I hope so.

Awwww, I am sad for them! I thought they were a cute couple and enjoyed watching their MTV show. Which may or may not make me an accessory to their demise??

Oh well. Back to the C list they go.

    Ha - That's funny!

I watched the show as well. She's cute, he is irritating. Life goes on...

I knew when she bought the $1100 sheets there was going to be a fight.

Interesting, I didn't watch the show...not having seen the show, I would have thought otherwise.

I thought the reverse. Not that I've given it a whole lot of thought.

I've been ignoring them because I find her extremely irritating--that fake dumb blonde routine is so overused.

The one thing I read recently was that at his birthday party she was upset at something, and he was trying to smooth things over. She kept ignoring him and acting all p*ssy--in public. Not a mature way to handle spats. I wasn't surprised to hear the announcement a few days later. I figured it would come after the Dukes of Hazzard movie. I don't know about y'all, but my husband would not be happy with me strutting around looking like that for the world to see. Nothing is sacred anymore.

Of course any marriage ending is not funny but am I an awful person for not being terribly sad about their demise?
They used their marriage to make money and become famous. They really brought this on themselves IMHO. Look at the Hollywood marriages that last and are seriouis. Do you think Paul Neumann and Joanne Woodward would do a reality show about their marriage? Meryl Streep and her DH?

These two choose to live in the superficial, materialistic and vapid world of celebrity. I wish them well but I don't feel sorry for them.

ITA, Kima. I don't like for things like this to happen to anyone, but from the information that was available to the general public I don't think they were really all that serious about their vows. That is the tragic thing in all of this. These people are role models for kids.

It does make me appreciate the couples in the public spotlight that do take their relationships seriously and don't splash it all over the media.
