I saw these in BH&G thought they'd look great on a cookie tray.
These pinecones are delicious to the core and make the perfect addition to any dessert.
Follow our simple instructions and make these delicious pinecones.
1. Shape a cone about 1-1/2 inches tall and 1 inch in diameter from almond paste or marzipan. Starting at the wide end, insert halved or sliced almonds into the cone. You can make larger or smaller cones simply by starting with more or less almond paste.
2. Place equal amounts of unsweetened and semisweet baking chocolate (not baking pieces) in a small heavy saucepan. Melt together over low heat, stirring constantly.
3. Insert two toothpicks into the base of each cone. Hold cone over pan; spoon melted chocolate over cone. Transfer cones to wire rack covered with waxed paper; let stand till firm.
4. Remove toothpicks.
I couldn't figure out how to add the photo which is very helpful for visualizing what these look like. Here's the link: http://www.bhg.com/bhg/story.jhtml?s...tref=cat740057
