    Spice cake with caramel frosting

I made a spice cake from Gourmet 3/06 but used a caramel frosting from Cake Mix Magic instead of the apple mixture suggested. Anyway the cake was moist and nicely spiced and although sweet, we love the frosting!

That sounds really good - I'm printing it out now, and since I happen to have all the ingredients on hand, I am going to make it! We are going to visit DD tomorrow for her birthday and this will be perfect. I like the fact it is small. I will put her favorite fudge frosting on it instead of the caramel, though, since spice cake w/ fudge frosting is both my DDs favorite cake. Thanks! The timing couldn't be more perfect!
Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.
