You may recall the announcement in last month's Editor's column....Cooking Light was about to publish a collection of "essential" recipes, the first series is 3 separate volumes, Chicken, Pasta and Soup with a second series to follow in the Fall. Well, I *had* to have them. I promptly ordered them from Amazon and the 3rd volume, Pasta, arrived today. I think that all of the recipes are previously published recipes. They are nicely put together in hard cover volumes. The Chicken volumehas 58 recipes, the Pasta volume has 63 recipes and the Soup volume has 57 recipes. The concept of these publications is slightly different from the "Special Editions" with the soft covers because it is grouped by a type of recipe. The volumes have less recipes than you generally get in the soft cover Special Editions (newstands now have Cooking Light 7) but the photography is excellent. All in all, worth the purchase price of $ 12.21 (through Amazon.com).
