    Movie review: Hoot!

I just saw Hoot this afternoon and wanted to share. First of all, I teach 5th grade and I just finished reading the book to the class last week. I don't have any kids of my own and only about 1/2 of the people in the theater had kids. The movie was a fairly good interpretation of the book by Carl Hiaasen. Having read the book first, I truly enjoyed the movie! Not sure how you'd enjoy it if you didn't read the book but it is a really nice wholesome movie with no swearing (maybe they said "d@mn" but it may have been "dang") and nothing gory or violent. If you like feel-good movies about the little guy making a difference, check it out!

Anyone else seen it yet? What did you think?

Thank you so much for the review. DD is in 4th grade and her 3rd grade teacher read it to her last year. We also got it out of the library on tape and listened to it on a long car ride. DH and I enjoyed it so much that we finished listening to it when the kids were not in the car . I will definitely take DD to see it. Have you read his new one (I think it is called Flush)? DD really enjoyed it and I am a fan of his grown up books.

Thanks for the review. Count me as another teacher who has read and enjoyed the book.

I haven't read Flush yet, but I will definitely check it out. I've been noticing his adult novels a lot recently so I'll also have to set aside some time for those too!
