Blueberry Chocolate Cake
Yield: 16 Servings
Ingredients
150 grams butter (room temp.)
175 grams brown sugar
1/2 lemon; grated rind of
1 ts vanilla
2 lg eggs
225 grams flour
2 ts baking powder
2 tb cocoa
1 ts cinnamon
1 pn salt (up to)
200 grams blueberries
100 mls milk; about
Instructions
From Wanganui Chronicle, March 15, 1994
Preheat oven to 180 C. Grease and base-line a large loaf tin (about 22cm
by 13cm and7cm deep) with greased paper.
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the rind and
vanilla, then the eggs one by one.
Sift together the dry ingredients. Stir into creamed mixture with the
blueberries. Finally stir in milk to make a soft batter. Spread into
prepared pan. Bake at 180 C for 50-55 mins. Cool in pan for 5 mins.then
turn on to a rack to cool.

This version of blueberry buckle coffee cake is enriched with sour cream and white chocolate chips. It's a coffee cake loaded with fresh blueberries that is good enough for the finest company.
INGREDIENTS:
Cake:
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, at room temperature
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 extra-large egg
1 cup sour cream
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 pint (about 2 cups) fresh blueberries
1/2 cup white chocolate chips

Topping:
1/4 cup white granulated sugar
1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
1/3 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, cut into small dice
PREPARATION:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line a 9 x 13-inch baking pan with non-stick foil.
For the cake:
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar together until fluffy.
Add vanilla, egg, and sour cream, beating until smooth.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Toss the blueberries in the flour mixture to coat, then remove blueberries with a slotted spoon to a separate bowl. (The flour will help keep the blueberries from sinking and turning the batter gray.)
Add flour mixture to wet ingredients, half at a time, beating until smooth.
Fold in reserved blueberries and white chocolate chips. Pour into prepared pan and smooth evenly. (Batter will be stiff.)
For the topping:
Whisk together white sugar, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon until combined. Add butter and use your fingers to mix until coarse crumbs are formed. Sprinkle over batter. Bake 30 to 35 minutes until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let cake cool to room temperature before cutting to serve.
Yield: 24 to 36 servings, depending on cut size

Chocolate and blueberries aren't exactly a natural combination, possibly because the chocolate would overwhelm the fruit.Mostly it's combined with white chocolate, like in the recipe above, or in the cake posted there's just two Tbsps. of cocoa, which is pretty light. Probably you need to supress your craving or snack on some chocolate coated dried blueberries until it passes.
You might give some thought to the much-loved CL Blueberry Pound Cake.

Blueberries and chocolate is a great combination! In Montreal, chocolate coated blueberries are quite popular! It's easy to make too...just melt some chocolate and drop in some blueberries to coat, remove with a slotted spoon and let cool on wax paper and voila!....keep refridgerated until serving!![]()

Yeah, and I mentioned chocolate covered blueberries in my post too. A blueberry coated in chocolate is not blueberries in a large body of chocolate like a cake; I guess I have to spell it out for the geniuses, but I think most understood my point.
