Do pants that don't slide down exist anymore?

I am so SICK and TIRED of all my pants falling down about 2 seconds after I put them on. When I sit down in the car (cold leather seats) my skin is exposed and I am sick of it!! I am tired of bending over and having my pants half way down too. When are "low rise" waists going to be a thing of the past? Even my Nike "dri-fit" pants are starting to slide down and I have only had them for 3 weeks.....ughhhh...

Is it too much to ask for pants with a waistband that actually fits around the waist????

P.S. My new Nike dri-fit pants are the greatest invention ever!! If you are looking for some comfy, workout wear type pants try these. I got mine at Nordstrom. I even asked for a couple more pairs for Christmas.

Yes, low-rise pants are totally annoying. I've found success with buying jeans that have no spandex in them, just 100% cotton. I like my "Lucky" Brand jeans and they make a midrise. They can be $100+ but I get mine at Nordstrom's Rack for about $35.00, you just have to hunt for them!

I hate the cold car seat touching my lower back as well. Banana Republic makes contour jeans that are mid rise instead of low rise and they still look good, don't look at all like "mom" jeans. they also help you avoid the muffin top look. They are $78 a pair, though. I winced as I paid for them but they are really flattering and comfortable.

LLBean has a mid rise, boot cut jean that is great. I have a pair and plan on ordering more. And I promise, they aren't 'mom jeans.'

Ginger - those aren't the LL Bean jeans are they?

I have another issue with low or mid-rise jeans - can anyone help?

The front pockets always seem to bulge out closest to the center of the pants. If I really tug on the jeans and pull them up this goes away and the pockets lie flat, but then the pockets just go back to bulging again.

Any way to keep the pockets lying flat? Does anyone even know what I'm talking about?

OMG, I've been soooo happy about the low-rise style! Even when I was skinny, I found most pants looked frumpy on me - I think the low-rise is so much more flattering and comfortable. In fact, I've worn men's 501s my entire life because of the fit. (OK, so they're not "low-rise" but more so than most women's jeans of the day.)

    HOWEVER:

LOL!! That is too funny! Yes, that is the down side for those of us who wish we had the body we hated 10 years ago. Muffin top, hehehehe.

All my pants slide down. Perhaps there is something wrong with my body?

Hey I now know why mens don't stay up--they're wearing low-rise jeans!

Ha! No, they're not, Loren, but I think I should have stated the sentence in this form:

I hate the feeling of the skin getting exposed to the cold car seat, etc., but I have always blamed the fact that shirts/sweaters seem to be made shorter and shorter these days, I'd guess to save money. Even in places like LlBean catalog, more of the tops are described as "falls at high hip" than ever before. I want "falls at low hip and won't pull out of your pants in back when you get into a car or reach for something!"

I have little kids and it is really embarassing to be at the park or the preschool or wherever and bend down to help the kids with something. I'm constantly reaching behind me to pull my top down and cover my exposed back. Or I'm checking to make sure my undies aren't poking out over the top of my waistband. I've had good luck with the Gap's curvy jeans. They're low-rise, but at least they fit around the "waist." So many of the low-rise jeans (for me anyway) leave a big bulge of fabric at the lower back that doesn't sit against my skin. A nice view down my pants for anyone who's interesting in what color my panties are that day. Lovely. I feel like telling people, "I don't actually WANT you to see my underwear or my lower back. I really don't."

    'Muffin Top Look'???

I had to call Triple A to come change a flat for me the other day and the kid who came had the lowest riding jeans I've ever seen. As he's crouching down to change the tire, I kid you not, his entire @ss was outside the pants and he did not mind one little bit. I didn't know where to look and the fact that he was a dead ringer for Adam Sandler didn't help my amusement situation.

Please don't wish away the lower rise jeans!

Here's what I do - I buy camis from Banana Republic and wear them under everything. They are long enough to tuck way into your jeans and cover that "bare spot" in the back.

Linda - eek! Was he wearing boxers? That seems to be the style now for boys. If he wasn't . . . eek! Where's his mother?

Briefs Debie and thank the Lord for small mercies. A kid that looked like Adam Sandler changing my flat with his bare @ss in the breeze? I would have had to sit down.

Isn't Victoria Secret the one who made "panty peek" popular?

I don't understand low-rise for toddlers. What's the point? I need the waist-high to contain diapers. Otherwise, the pants sit halfway down the diapers.

As for myself, I'm not a big fan of low-rise pants/skirts. Low-rise really only flatters those who have flat stomachs. I'm not one of those people. Not to mention, I always feel like my undies are falling whenever I wear low-rise anything.

So no one else has pocket issues (see my post above)???

    Did I explain it right?

Yes, Loren, I have pocket issues too. I asked my MIL who is a high-fashion seamstress why it happens to me and she said it's because the pants are too tight across the butt so it pulls and a little too loose in the waist (just a little), so the waist doesn't stay up exactly right.

Finding pants that fit me just right is near on impossible. The best bet is to buy pants that fit properly across the seat (no pulling pockets) and have the waist taken in. Pain in the neck, but it will solve the problem.

Thank you Grace! I had no idea why this was happening! I can definitely take things to the tailor. At least now I can tell her why I need them taken in!

Gracie - I've had pocket issues, but they sound different from yours. I would try sewing/tacking a small piece of the inner pocket lining to your pants. See if that keeps them from bunching up.

I love lower-rise jeans. Hate the fact that all of a sudden a decent pair of jeans must cost more than $100.
