    Question Apple cider substitution

I needed apple cider for a recipe and could only find apple juice. What can I substitute for cider? I really don't have time to run to several stores looking for cider.

Without knowing the details of the recipe/item you're cooking, apple juice should be fine. I have a few recipes where I often sub cranberry juice for apple cider/juice, as well.

There is actually no standard definition for the difference between apple cider and apple juice; you can use them interchangibly.

That's what I thought, but I didn't want there to be some mysterious cider ingredient that was key to the whole meal.....then I mess it up because I didn't know.
