How long does a jar of capers in brine keep once open?

How long does a jar of capers in brine keep once open (refrigerated)?

I'm sure I've kept them for several months. They're pickled, I think, so should last quite a while. Love capers!!

Months? I've kept them, er, "considerably longer" -- and I'm even paranoid about such things! If there's nothing floating on the top of the brine that interests or concerns you, I say they're fine. I'm sure I've kept jars of 'em for a good two years or more without incident.

Yeah, before I started using capers on a regular basis, I was keeping one of the small jars for, as Canice said, "considerably longer." Now, I buy the big jar from Whole Foods, and they last maybe 5 or 6 months! As long as it's pickled, no problem!

I'm with Canice. I keep them for a long time. They're really salty and vinegary, so they don't really go bad.
