Is it bad?

That I'm craving ltjr2's Oatmeal Bars, a manhattan, some cheese and olives for dinner?

Anyone have any better ideas that won't take a lot of time/energy as I'm down with a summer cold?

Think I'd skip the Manhattan if I had a cold...why waste good booze when taste is compromised? The rest sounds great!

Good point on the booze! Maybe if I run by one of the farm stands in the area and grab a farm fresh tomato to add to the mix I could get by with the cheese and olives. I am not making those oatmeal bars on a Saturday when I can't get them out of the house until Monday but they sure look darn good!

I made a Caprese(sp?) type salad yesterday that hit the spot.
tomato slices with fresh moz. slices layered and drizzled with chopped basil and a dijon, vinegar dressing poured over it.

I hope you feel better soon.

If you have chicken noodle soup, that may be the easiest and best all around.

Wikipedia has a small pic on the right hand side..

It's not bad, but it might be a little weird.

Hope you feel better!

I say just go with what you crave!

Well I would hardly criticize since I just ate another one of those bars. But thanks for the shout out. Speaking of those bars, I am realizing that one of my I-have-no-self-control foods is ANY dessert made with oats. How weird is that?

Oatmeal is comfort food, tomatoes for vitamin c and olives and cheese so you get some calcium while you replenish the salt and don't dehydrate.

This is me exactly. I can't even eat a reasonable amount of steel cut oats or baked oatmeal, let along monster cookies or oatmeal cookies of any kind. It's sad, really.

DH asked me tonight if I had any horse in me but I told him I was certain my heart must be very strong by now because everything with oats in it always comes with ads saying how good they are for your heart. Right? Right?

Who am I to criticize? I just bought some dried mango so I could try my favorite oatmeal cookies with dried mango instead of dried cranberries (I only like raisins in cookies). Maybe I'll use both!

Glad you approve. Part rationalization and part figuring out what your body is telling you with cravings.
