New cookbooks
There hasn't been a thread on this for a while except for leonards one on The Deen brothers new cookbook and instead of hi-jacking his thread I thought I would start one. The other night I was browsing Amazon and found out that Beth Hensperger has a new one coming out called Not Your Mother's Slow Cooker Family Favorites. I have been thinking of buying this one. Any new cookbooks in your future?

I knew I shouldn't have opened this thread. I will definitely be checking out the Ellie Krieger book!
I saw on Bravo that in October they will be coming out with a Top Chef "Best of Quickfire" or something like that. Same type of thing as the last book - lots of background info, photos, etc in addition to the recipes.

La!La!La! I don't hear you guys! La!La!La!
(except for the Ellie Krieger one, which is a definite must-have and I've been counting that one down for months). You are bad CLBBers! DH (and the house) will not tolerate another 7' cookbook bookcase!
And I suppose nobody wants to even think about Alton's new one due out in early October, Good Eats The Early Years, now do ya???? Woohoo!

I forgot all about the Ellie Krieger one. A lot of them I didn't even know about. There are a lot that have been mentioned that I am interested in as well. Hopefuly I don't go overboard and buy too many of them.

I am going on vacation next week... I might cave and finally buy 660 Curries before we go, since it's right there at the grocery store, taunting me.
Rose Levy Berenbaum has a new book coming out?! Must add to wish list....

I started my 2009 Christmas Wish List last night cuz of this thread... LOL
I also want this book even though it is already released, I think it is worth a mention:

Ooh that new Peter Reinhart one is very tempting! I have to go read about it at Amazon ASAP.
cherylopal, I also bought Vegan Brunch and promptly went out and purchased a new Cuisinart waffle maker. It is a vicious cycle! Plus I just read that tomorrow (Tuesday) is National Waffle Day so it will be my patriotic duty to make some of course.
I'm looking forward to Isa Chandra Moskowitz' upcoming book, Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar. It is supposedly due in November just in time for holiday baking.

I have purchased several this summer. I, too, bought Vegan Brunch and am eager to ue it but I lent it to someone who has yet to return it. (Must stop lending books...I never learn!) I am also eagerly awaiting Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar. I noticed Rebecca Rather (Texas Pastry Queen) has a new release this fall. I bought The Vegan Table by Collen Patrick-Goudreau, author of Vegan Baking, Baking with Agave and Dulce, Desserts from Santa Fe Kitchens...I think there are more but I am either too tired or I just buy too many cookbooks!
Oh, and I ordered a used copy of NanetteB's Vegetarian Christmas Cookbook and I have put her new release, Vegan Fiesta in my Amazon cart!

I was a recipe tester for this cookbook- and I'm currently testing recipes for her new one.
I loved the zucchini cakes and the salad with the raspberry dressing.

I did end up getting 660 Curries, and also the Barefoot Contessa Back to Basics book I've wanted for such a long time. The fact that her Cosmo recipe really jumped out at me says something about my mental state lately....
Now all I need is some TIME to figure out what to cook!

Cherylopal, those peace cupcakes are adorable!
I just donated a stack of cookbooks so of course I celebrated by ordering more cookbooks.
I am anxiously awaiting Crescent Dragonwagon's The Cornbread Gospels and Great Chefs Cook Vegan. I absolutely have to make Chef Eric Ripert's 3 course menu even if it takes me a week to hunt down the ingredients and two days to cook.

Crescent Dragonwagon read what I wrote on my blog about her Passionate Vegetarian and sent me The Cornbread Gospels to review--it just arrived today. Very exciting stuff, and just in time for fall (cornbread weather).
I too am going to be adding to my xmas list from this thread. And to think I told DH I was ok with the state of my cookbook shelves and would be asking for other stuff for xmas! Yeah right!
