All Set to Make a Test Batch of Cupcakes...

and my KA is dead, dead, dead! How can this be?

So I'll be suing the hand held since I've got everything measured out. Not sure I'll be able to get the Swiss meringue right with the hand held though.

And I see I put this on the wrong board...

If it's any comfort, I've never had a stand mixer and I've been able to make cakes and even swiss meringue fine. And my hand mixer is dinky, I'm sure you have a spiffier one.

depends on the hand held. I have 2 - 1 could do it while I'm not sure about the other. And it will take a little longer.

Thanks for the info. I'm skipping the icing for now as DH ordered a new circuit board (hoping it's that and not the actual motor). It will arrive on Monday.

My hand held is just an old supermarket (I'm talking almost 30 years old) and it did a great job whipping the whites for the batter so I guess I'd be okay for the icing.

It is nice to have engineers (mechanical and electrical) in the house!

Susan,

I have a KA stand mixer that I have used maybe four times. It is nearly new. It is sitting in the box in my garage. If you want it, I will ship it to you. It is the brushed metallic nickel one. (I think that's the color.) The offer's out there if you want it. Otherwise, it will probably go to Goodwill when I move next year. (I just prefer my hand mixer, I suppose.)

OMG! What a very generous offer! Mindy, that so overwhelming I just don't know what to say! First let's see if the circuit board fixes the problem. Thank yo so very much for the offer it just blow me away!

I 100% mean it.

I'm big into downsizing/decluttering/simplifying these days...and I think your should graciously accept it. I'd love to give it to someone who will actually use it. Consider it a belated birthday/early Christmas "gently used" gift.

Just let me know. I know your address.

Why are you suing your hand held?

LOL! I wondered if anyone would call me on that! It's one of those words that I typically misspell so I don't get the little red wavy line questioning it since it's a correct spelling...just not my intended use. Plus I was too bummed at the time to correct it.

Yes. Since I have a non-dead KA (lemon yellow), I'm requesting a food processor, coffee grinder, or anything Le Crueset.

If you need to sue your hand held mixer, I know a few good attorneys . . .

Yes, she's truly a sweetheart!

Test run went great though didn't make the icing this time. DS#3 claims the cupcakes are like sugar cookies disguised as cake...A++ in his book. He'd have eaten the 2 dz if I'd have let him.

She is moving to Chi-town, right? So at least you could borrow if she's not ready to part with any of those.

I'll be in touch about the attorney later.
