Home Exercise Enthusiasts ... week of Sept 7

I'll get us started.. I'll be on vacation the next two weeks. the first big trip with our new camper.. can hardly wait!

saturday I did 20 on the treadmill and muscle max. sunday I did a short treadmill warmup and then Kick,Punch Crunch. Got some unusual sore spots and was feeling pretty pooped before I got thru it. It's funny, you'd think cardio was cardio but each workout is different and one workout doesn't really prepare you well for different one. monday was a day off.
today, yoga for the first time in 6 weeks. We had some distinctly fall-like wet and rainy weather for much of the weekend. we never do anything outdoors over labor day avoid the masses of people on the roads. had some friends over for dinner instead.

What'd all of you do for the weekend? I tried on some tight jeans from the back of the closet and they were definitely looser. I still don't like them...lower rise jeans never fit right .. If I can get them up the "waist' gaps like crazy. so that's my whine for the day.

hope the beginning of the school year doesn't kill everyone's posting time! I did more treadmill and GS back biceps yesterday, and am heading downstairs for more of the same today. treadmill plus chest triceps I think.

I hope someone gets to stop in this week... I'll be gone the next two weeks on vacation.

I think we're just in awe!

You're doing a great job but I think most of us here are silently impressed with your workout regime. Keep it up!

Valerie -- So sorry to abandon you!!! This week was just crazy. I had barely enough time to get from one activity to the other. Your workouts sound great! And congrats on the loose jeans -- woot!!! I don't like the low rise jeans, either. I have the same problem -- by the time I get them over my hips, they gap at the waist. I know I should probably look for elastic but I just can't do it. Just seems wrong.

I did manage to get my workouts in, though. Monday I did Drill Max Double Cardio premix -- this was really hard on my knees; don't know that I'll do that again. Tues/Thurs/Sat I did the splits from Pure Strength and Wednesday was Turbo Jam.

I got my new Kelly Coffey-Meyer DVDs so I plan on doing her rotation starting on Monday. Looking forward to it.

Needed to get to the grocery store today but it's POURING here! So, I've decided to stay home and make Alysha's marinara. Much more fun, if I do say so myself.

Valerie -- Hope you have a great vacation! Enjoy the new camper. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate. I'll do my best to keep something going while you're gone!

Charisse -- Hope you had a good week and that you still managed to squeeze in some workouts!

Skinnyme -- Thanks for chiming in! We'd love to have you join us. We're just a small group trying to encourage one another with our workouts. Checking in helps me stay accountable!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

didn't think I'd chime in today, but hey, there's life out there! I know how the week goes sometimes, I have more time than most people. Keep things rolling1.

Thanks skinnyme. it helps to feel accountable and to have a place to report in.

Stacy... I've never done anything beyond Drillmax but if it's more than the "basic" workout, holy cow. That would be a tough one. I've never tried KCM's workouts. I may ask more about them after I get back.

I'm wide thru the legs and lower hips so to get pants up they end up being "gappy" at the top. It's not anything I can change, just body type. when I lose weight it comes off my middle and makes the problem worse. Oh well, low rise will pass on to something else.

charisse, hope the next week is less hectic and that you're getting workouts in even if you can't post.

Hey, Valerie! Didn't think I'd check in again, either, but here I am!

The double cardio Drill Max is each cardio drill done two times. It really adds up fast. A little too much jumping for me but I sure I burned some calories. I really like the KCM workouts that I have. Her 30-Minutes to Fitness series has two workouts on each DVD with premixes as well. I usually do the premixes for a longer workout but it still leaves some time for some short core and/or yoga. Some of her workouts are a little less intense than Cathe's which is nice at times. She also always shows a modifier and her team seems a little more like "normal" folks. It's just nice to have a little variety.
