need help with dress...

You all give such great fashion advice and I need your ideas please...

I bought this dress so I could have basic black dress but I would like to wear it out to dinner this sat- we're celebrating a friends 50th bday. How would you give it some fun pop/color?? (I don't like the little red belt but love love olve the pleated hem.)
Thanks

I also bought these shoes and belt but well, its all black. I really like the the shoes and belt but when I got home and pulled it out of the bag I was hit with the thought "its all black"... (They didn't have any red shoes in my size.)

Love the dress. And I agree with you about the skinny belt - but love the belt you bought. maybe a wide belt with a color? Or go all black but buy a big bright cuff. Other jewelry? hmmmm. Bright clutch purse?

Use color in your jewelry. A larger red necklace and bracelet with a red handbag might give you the pop you need.

I agree with PP - bright accessories. You could do anything that made you happy... purple is huge this fall, so maybe a clutch purse in purple with fabulous purple earrings and a bracelet?

Cheryl - that dress will look amazing on you! Unlike you, though, I do like the little red belt (even though I don't usually like red and black together - I think I just like the skinny belt with the dress). Since you don't, I'd probably just pile on silver or sparkly black jewelry and carry a really bright bag.

I'm with Jen - I also love the skinny red belt with it. But then again, I love red and black together. I also like the suggestion for silver jewelry/accessories.

Thank you Jen for the lovely compliment!

I love the idea of colorful accessories- esp the necklace- that will show when sitting down to dinner. Also love the bracelets Josie

I"m going to stop on the way home today at a gifty store that carries fun jewelry and see what they have.

Thank you again everyone

I wore the dress last night with your advice- I ended up ditching the belt- I was only so-so with it at the store but took it since it looked fun. It just wasn't doing anything and then when I went downstairs DH asked where the rest of the straight jacket was! So I went beltless and thought it worked great.

A friend lent me a lovely pearly silver red beaded chucky necklace that worked great. (I had mentioned to her that you all had rec this.) I had a pair of black dangly earrings and a sheer black with silver threads scarf- which I needed. I'm still looking for my own necklace and maybe a belt since I'll be wearing the dress again in a few weeks. I have a fun funky purple, pink well, multicolored clutch if I can find a purple necklace- Thanks again everyone!!
