What does "tag search" mean? It's a dropdown under search button.

I was just doing a search for something on the BB, and under the search drop down button, it has the option of "tag search" (I just always ignored and went to advanced search). I'm not really sure what it means, how different is from just searching the term etc. When I clicked on it, there were a bunch of words (tags) but not sure how they came about.

I've seen the term tag on other sites too but never looked further.

Tags make the search function better (supposedly). When you start a new thread, there is a small box below the box where you put your message where you can add tags. So, if a thread is about tag searching, you can put in that little box tags such as search, tag, etc...

Photo storage/sharing websites use them quite a bit to help people find pictures they might be interested in.
