Question What is that thing called?!

That long-handled (I think wooden-handled) strainer-type thing that you scoop pasta out of boiling water with? I've always meant to buy one and am doing a little online shopping but can't seem to find one. Aargh!

I think you might be referring to a spider (I think that's the name for it).

Thank you for the quick reply! I thought it was a spider, too, but that didn't work in my searches. I just found one on Amazon called "Joyce Chen Stainless Steel Strainer, 7 Inch" and in several reviews, customers referred to it as a spider...so I wasn't confused after all! Thanks again.

Rather than buy one on Amazon, if you go to a chinese supermarket they usually have stacks of them for fishing noodles out, at a fraction of the cost Amazon will sell them. They have bamboo handles usually.
