True, but how do we know, for sure, what American companies import their cosmetics as well as Halloween makeup from China?

From past experience we know that food with American labels was grown in and imported from china.

Halloween makeup is often chosen by price point, which makes it doubly important to check country of origin. We read food labels and we should carefully read cosmetic labels, as well.

I suggest everyone choose very carefully what is painted on children's faces both at Halloween and for PTA (and other) face-painting fund raisers.

I think that is partly the point being made in the articles (even if unspoken). What goes around comes around in many cases.

At least one of those two articles suggests using (easily found in the home) cosmetic and ecologically safe alternatives to purchased Halloween makeup.

A few years ago parents were told that Halloween masks were unsafe for children (because of poor night visibility) and that face makeup was the perfect solution.

It's always hard to know when one has done enough to protect children, isn't it?
