Building a website

Business dilemma:
I would like to build a website for my new company but have no idea of how involved or what the cost might be. We are consultants so don't have products to showcase just text/copy of our services. Does anyone have any idea what it might cost to hire someone/a company/service to do this kind of project?

Recommendations of web designers most welcome.

Thanks.
Julie

I just looked into this. For no frills service (website design, hosting, no e-commerce), you're looking at about $700 and up). If you're keen on getting a site up and running, let me know. My friend runs a web for small business company, and he's really good at marketing. As he says, a website isn't much use if no one sees it.

There's a lot of software that allows you to DIY if you are up to it.
I created a very simple one for our health care system, but it was very basic.

Google web page creation and I am sure you will have more agencies selling service than you know what to do with.

Don't forget to check with your IT department; they may have people in place that do this.

I use Bluehost as my web host, and looking on their website, they also do design. A basic "online presence" as they call it is between 99-129 for design. Hosting varies depending on your needs, but I've been really happy with the service I've recieved from them- affordable too.

Thank you for the suggestions. You actually brought up more to-do's than I realized.

We are actually considering a barter of services with some companies as well for this type of work. But, I have now learned there is far more to the work that needs to be done than I anticipated. I had hoped that it might be something that I can figure out how to do myself....maybe not!

I appreciate the insight though.

Foodfiend, thank for the offer of speaking with your contact. I will reach out once I know what we have decided to do.

Thanks again everyone!

Julie
