Cheering for our own Catharine!!!

Today our very on CLBBer Catharine is attempting her first Ironman competition! She's spent countless hours training and preparing and today she races. It will not be an easy day and she will have to dig deep to go the 140.6 miles this race will cover before midnight tonight. If you get a moment I know she'd love some good vibes for a great race day!

Go Cat Go!!!

Just a note, it'll probably be a couple more hours until we know what's happening on the bike course. They don't have a mid-bike split so we won't know until she's done the 112 miles.

What was her time in the water? (I don't think I can track her b/c it's asking for a last name or bib#)

TIA!

P.S. Congrats Arete! That's a huge accomplishment! Hope you had a blast

OK, I found it on her blog. Her bib # is 2398
You can track results here: http://ironman.com/events/ironman/florida?show=tracker

Her blog from yesterday sounds like she's super nervous, and esp worried about the cutoff times. But, she got out of the swim with plenty of time to spare. She's put in so much training. I'm sure she'll be fine!

Yay! She just finished the bike.

So far....

Swim: 2:07
T1: 11:06
Bike: 7:50

They don't show at T2 yet, but I think there's a bit of a lag on the computer. The great news is that she's cranking!

Susan, I was about to come update. I was getting nervous there but so glad she pulled through. For those that don't know she has done 6 marathons in the past so while this is not the same I know she has far more confidence in her run than she does the bike and swim so I imagine she's got a sense of relief right now. At least I hope she does!

Go, Cat, go!

ETA: T2 is up at 7:02 so off she went. I actually know someone helping in the T2 changing tent so maybe she got to help Cat. I told her if she does to tell her that Robyn and the CLBBers are cheering for her so she might have gotten the message mid course. I hope, I hope.

New report from a friend of hers posted on FB is that she started the run with a huge smile on her face and lots of crowd support. If she can keep a steady pace and doesn't have any major issues she's totally got this. Kick arse Ironwoman Cat!!!

Seriously girl, you are rocking your run so far! 11:25 minute pace. After a 2.4 mile swim and a 112 mile bike ride. You. Are. My. Hero!
