Confectioners Sugar Icing Question

I'm planning to give neighbors and some friends lemon pound cake for Christmas. I put a confectioners sugar icing on it. I'm trying to get a head start on the baking so I'm making the cakes to freeze. Just wondered if anyone has ever frozen something with confectioners sugar icing on it and how that worked out.

TIA

I have never tried it, but most of the cookie recipes recommend freezing the cookie without icing. Its mostly sugar and butter so it should freeze. Since the icing is easy to make, I think it would depend on how much time you have.

Thanks.

I like to have them ready to just pull out of the freezer and give to someone when the opportunity arises. This icing is easy to make but it needs to sit for a while to harden on the cake. Oh well. Maybe I'll do a couple of other sweet breads to have for times I can't wait for the icing to harden.
