How was the big day?

I feel like I'm missing out as a Canuck
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving -- too much to eat, lots of great company and lots to be thankful for.

Holidays can certainly be stressful and all of that, but also lots of joy and things to truly be thankful for.

This year was my first year at my twin sister's house. She made everything and it was delicious. It was a last minute invite as the folks from church she had invited canceled on her the day before Thanksgiving
Thankfully, we only had ribs planned, so accepted her unexpected invite.
It was great. She seemed like a pro...non-plussed by all the arranging and rearranging things in the oven; everything came out on time and was great (it was her first whole turkey).
We lounged a bit and chatted.
It was an AWESOME day! And of course, every year, I am thankful I am NED (no evidence of disease) and share another wonderful winter here!

After a day of well deserved rest, I feel great after hosting 36 adults and 3 toddlers for Thanksgiving. I cooked 3 turkeys, stuffing, awesome gravy (2-day process), cranberries and coleslaw. All appetizers, sides and desserts were brought by my guests. We entertained both sides of our families and had relatives (in-laws & out-laws) from Minnesota, Florida & Boston. After dinner we take turns for everyone to say their thanks which is the best part of the day. Most of the children are college age and older and are extremely creative (top 10 things not to do at the "Big Love"). The term was given because it is a day of unbelievable fun and happiness (not anything to do with the TV show).

The guests arrived at 3:00 and the last ones left at 2:40 am. So it was 11 hours of entertaining and partying. We turned the stereo up and danced for several hours to everything from MJ to Blues. Almost everyone danced from age 1 year to 81. So another "party of the year" came off without any problems. No doubt it is worth all the preparation for weeks.

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday too!
