Hot Buttered Rum/for the slow-cooker

Just found this on-line. I love this on a real cold day, but we don't have too many of those here. So I thought I would share this recipe with our dear friends up north. Might come in handy during the holidays. I didn't do a search, hope it's not a repeat.

Hot Buttered Rum

Slow Cooker 5 or 6 quart size

1 qt. water
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 bottle (32 oz.) cranberry juice
1 can (26 oz.) pineapple juice
1 1/2 to 3 cups rum
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 stick butter
1 (1-inch piece) vanilla bean

Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker. Stir well.

Cover and cook on preferred setting:
Low - 3 hours
High - 1 1/2 hours

Serves: 15-20 (6-8 oz. servings)
