Any restaurant recommendtions for Easter brunch in Washington, D.C.?

I have read numerous threads about D.C. restaurants here on the BB, but I was wondering if anybody has any recommendations for brunch. I'll be in D.C. for Easter weekend and want to take my friend to a nice Easter brunch. I will be staying at the Hay-Adams, so something within walking distance or a short cab ride is preferable as I am leaving later in the afternoon for Chicago.

I have looked at the jazz brunch at Georgia Brown's and at the Old Ebbitt Grill, but I'd like a few more options before I decide. I would appreciate any recommendations since I need to make a reservation for us soon.

Thanks in advance.

Hi MiMo,

I am sorry that no one has responded to your request yet. Your question made me realize that I really haven't had brunch in the city in a very long time. I found some info online that can get us started. From AOL cityguide there is a list, but I am not sure if I agree with it. I have heard good things about Seasons, which is in the Four Seasons hotel in Georgetown. I also found this article, and the recommendations seem a little more reliable to me.

I wish I could be more helpful. PM or email me if you have specific questions and I will try to find answers for you. Enjoy your trip!

We drove out to Alexandria (or you can take the Metro) and had a lovely luncheon at Bilbo Baggins. Here's the website in case you're interested:

The Tabard Inn near Dupont Circle does a good brunch--casual and not a buffet. I'm not sure if they do anything specifically for Easter. They have a nice patio if the weather is good. I'd recommend making a reservation if you plan to go there--it's a popular spot.

Thanks for bumping this thread, Catharine. The initial response to this post was overwhelming, wasn't it?

I actually have reservations for brunch at both Old Ebbitt Grill and Georgia Brown's. My friend is going to get back to me and let me know which one she wants to go to by the end of this week so I can cancel the other reservation. We had thought about having brunch at the hotel, but I think $60 per person is crazy, and the brunch at the Hay-Adams doesn't start until 11:30 a.m. and I needed something earlier than that.

Donna,

Bilbo Baggins looks really good, but we need to stay close to the hotel so I can go back to pick up my suitcase after brunch and catch a plane from DCA. I do have that on my list of places to try for my next trip to D.C., though, so thanks for the recommendation.

Mao,

I looked at the Tabard Inn shortly after I posted this question. I love the looks of the brunch menu, but I don't think it would suit my friend. The inn dining room looks so quaint and lovely, too. Again, maybe I can go here on my next trip to D.C.

Thanks to you all for your responses.
