    yogurt instead of buttermilk

    Is it possible to use yogurt instead of buttermilk if various cake or quick bread recipes? anyone have experience with this type of exchange. thanks loridori

    Yes, it is possible. Though I don't use stuff like Dannon or Yoplait because of the gelatin/thickeners used in those products. I use a Bulgarian yogurt that is more liquid. It will change the texture/crumb of the bread but it's still a good sub.
