5 C cooked brown rice = how much uncooked rice

Does anyone know how much uncooked rice I need to yield 5 C cooked? My recipe does not say...

    According to:

I usually assume it is doubled, like dried beans....
so 1 dried rice would be about 2-2-1/2 cups....
If you end up with leftovers, you can always make a fried rice dish.

Ha, that is what the firsts are for.

    I ended up using 2 1/2 C. I think I will have a fair amount of leftovers.

Wow, 2-1/2 cups is a lot!
When I cook one cup I end up with 3+ cooked.

    I do have a lot of leftover. Maybe another 1 1/2 - 2 C worth. Oh well.

You can freeze rice if you plan to use it in soups.
Or you can make rice pudding....yum!
