    Corned Beef, No Cabbage

Does anybody do anything interesting with corned beef that doesn't involve cabbage? And no sauerkraut either, please.

    no cabbage

The Guiness-braised Corned Beef Brisket that is popular on this board is really good. Of course we do make potatoes and cabbage dish (Colcannon) to go WITH it, but the recipe is great and has no cabbage. You should be able to find it on a search.

Valerie, would you please post the soup recipe?

The Guinness-braised recipe looks good too and maybe dad would then eat the leftovers in a sandwich.

I kind of bought it on a whim, cause it was on sale and I knew dad liked corned beef. But I wasn't really thinking that it's usually cooked with cabbage and I hate cabbage. And I just did something with sauerkraut for him about a week and a half ago and I'm in no mood to be smelling cabbage again

I think homemade hash sounds nice, but I have so much trouble with him that even though he likes the canned, I'm not sure he'd eat homemade. And he'll eat sandwiches, but not usually at home. But if he eats it as pot roast, I'll the leftovers in sandwiches.
