    Question Substitute for Arugula?

It is hard for me to find arugula. Is there something, more common, that can be used instead? Thanks for the help, as always.

What are you using it in? I was going to suggest watercress, but you probably wouldn't be able to find that, either. I would think spinach would make an adequate substitute in most dishes, although you'll miss the lovely pepperty bite of arugula. Some people don't even like it, though, so you may not even be missing anything.

I don't have any specific uses in mind, but the new CL has several salad recipes with arugula & I think some soups/stews too.

For the salads, I think spinach would be fine -- for the soups, you could probably use just about any green you like.
