    Fridge life for homemade pickles?

We got some homemade pickles for Christmas - we opened them in late Dec. and they were delicious. I"ve just found them in the back of the fridge --are they safe to eat? Pickles from the store seem to last indefinitely, but I am nervous about the homemade kind.

I have eaten some very old homemade pickles in my day, and lived to tell of it. The brine should retard any bacterial growth. I'd eat 'em.

We do the same. I make 'em, open 'em and they get shoved to the back! I agree, the brine does help them keep longer.
