Question How to get mothball smell out of clothes??

My mom very kindly agreed to store some of my winter clothes at her place last year; I just retrieved them this week and....she stuffed so many mothballs in them that they reek! You can smell my closet as you start walking upstairs! Does anyone know how to clear that smell out? I've been freezing because I don't want to wear any of my sweaters! I've had things hanging up and airing out, but it doesn't seem to be helping.

    Thanks!

I would suggest taking everything to a dry cleaner to get the smell out.

    Unhappy Mothball smell

Similar thing happened with bedding my Mother was storing. We aired it out, washed the items we could, sprayed Febreeze on all. It helped reduce the obvious odor but you can still smell it a bit. The next time we stored it, we used cedar chips. Hope this helps. I'd hate to wear anything that would advertize my presence a block away!
    Good Luck.

I guess I'll take the items I know I'm going to wear a lot to the cleaners. Maybe I can get my mom to foot the bill???

And will definitely insist on cedar chips for next year!

    Thanks!
