    substitution for pumpkin pie spice?

I want to make the frosted pumpkin cake from the Oct. 03 issue, but I forgot to buy the pumpkin pie spice. It calls for 2 tsps. of pumpkin pie spice. I have cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and nutmeg. Does anyone know how I can substitute these spices for the 2 tsps.? I know it's the week-end, but I know that SOME of us don't have lives except for cooking! Thanks.

    CL complete -
    1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
    1/4 tsp ground ginger
    1/8 tsp ground allspice
    1/8 tsp ground nutmeg

= 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice

Valchemist listed this with a cookie recipe the other day...
    pumpkin pie spice =
1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp ginger, 1/8 tsp nutmeg, 1/8 tsp allspice

My jar of Penzey's lists in this order...cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, ginger, mace and cloves

This is from Cooks Thesaurus, a site for finding substitutes for almost anything.

    pumpkin pie spice

To make your own: Combine 4 parts cinnamon + 2 parts ginger + 1 part allspice + 1 part nutmeg, all ground OR equal parts cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, mace, and cloves, all ground

Edited to say: By the time I got this typed there were two identical responses. Apparently, there are quite a few of us with no lives except cooking.

Susan, my thoughts exactly! So far I have baked 4 pies, cooked the beets, peeled and cubed the potatoes and put in water, made the cornbread, cooked the sausage and vegetables for the stuffing, and now I am going to make the cake. No Life? I love it!!
